Fix My Job helps workers see where their pay stands and plan their next move. To do that we need some information about your job. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and how to delete it.

The short version

Information collected automatically

Basic technical information needed to run the service, such as server logs (time of request, app version, device type and IP address). We do not use advertising trackers and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. How we use your information

The pay, law and training figures we show come from public sources such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Labor. We download those figures; we never send your personal information to those agencies.

4. AI features

Some features use AI services to understand job titles you type, suggest a next job, read a CV you upload, and search the web for courses near you. For these, we send the AI service only what the feature needs — for example your job title, your goal and your state or ZIP code. We do not send your name or email. AI is used for suggestions you choose from; the pay figures you see always come from official data, not from AI.

Our AI providers process this information on our behalf and, under their business terms, do not use it to train their models.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us run the app, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

ProviderWhat they do for us
SupabaseDatabase, sign-in and server functions (stores your account and answers)
GoogleGoogle Sign-In; Gemini AI for reading CV / LinkedIn text
AnthropicClaude AI for job matching, next-job suggestions and course search

Our website hostServing this website

We never tell your employer what you tell us about your rights or problems at work. If you give us your employer's name, we use it only to look up public government records about that employer (for example, wage or safety violations).

We will only share your details with an employer if you opt in to job offers and agree to that specific employer seeing them. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and the data linked to it within 30 days. Copies in routine backups are overwritten as part of the normal backup cycle. We may keep a record that a deletion request was made (your email and the date) to show we handled it. Server logs are kept for a short time for security and troubleshooting.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on your state (for example California), you may have rights to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for using those rights. We honor these requests for all users, wherever they live. We don't sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

8. Security

Information travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to our database is limited. Your answers about your rights and problems at work are kept separately, and only your own signed-in account can read them through the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you as the law requires.

9. Children

Fix My Job is for adults who are working or looking for work. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes and contact

If we make important changes to this policy we will tell you in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
